I encountered a frustrating bug that reset my game progress seemingly overnight, robbing me of the arena and my newly acquired thief character. This setback is disappointing, especially when the gameplay is otherwise compelling. The ability to unlock heroes feels somewhat shrouded in mystery, particularly the Alchemist, which leaves players unsure if it's accessible without purchasing it. Furthermore, the experience with item absorption could be improved, as the instructions appeared only after I had reached my inventory limit, leaving me stuck for a while.
Despite these issues, Rogue Slime possesses incredible potential to become a standout title in its category. The charm of its aesthetic, combined with smooth combat mechanics, sets it apart from many mobile games plagued with aggressive monetization strategies. While the early game lacks excitement due to limited choices, progression picks up as you unlock new villages and heroes. However, the combat needs slight rebalancing; for instance, the poison build seems overly powerful while the Challenge Tower lacks purpose—you can't truly test your builds with its current structure. With a few adjustments and prompt bug fixes, both the game and the community around it, possibly through a Discord channel for updates and feedback, would greatly benefit. I am hopeful for the future of Rogue Slime and would be glad to revisit my rating as improvements are made.
