Cube Escape: The Mill Codes review
I recently dived into *Cube Escape: The Mill*, my first encounter with an escape game from Rusty Lake, and I must say, it's been quite the experience. I completed the game in just over an hour without needing a walkthrough, which was refreshing. However, I found myself a bit perplexed by the overall narrative. Is this game part of a larger series with interconnected characters like *Hidden Town*? The story hinted at deeper connections, especially with the haunting presence of the "black ghost thingy," who, despite its unnerving appearance, has a thick accent that’s even funnier than my own, considering English is not my first language. I couldn't help but feel for the poor grandma, the girl, and even the cow—what a tragic fate! At least the irritating bird managed to escape, bringing a touch of humor to the otherwise eerie atmosphere that Rusty Lake brilliantly crafts.
Despite my positive experience, I did encounter some technical issues that hindered gameplay in other Rusty Lake titles. Games like *The Mill* and *Case 23* experienced display blinking, which was frustrating. I even tried reinstalling the games, but the glitches persisted, making it impossible to progress at times, such as when trying to pick up keys from those flip-open boxes. Unfortunately, these bugs have thrown a wrench in my gaming enjoyment, reminiscent of my struggles with *The Cave*. Nonetheless, I truly appreciate the clever puzzles and engaging storyline, and I’m eager for future games from Rusty Lake. If there were ways to earn free hints without watching ads, I think many players, including me, would be over the moon. Despite minor setbacks, I remain a fan and look forward to bigger and even more intriguing puzzles from the developers.
